For which skin problems is microneedling suitable?
- Wrinkles & fine lines
- Scars (e.g., acne scars)
- Uneven skin texture / large pores
- Pigmentation disorders (depending on depth)
Microneedling involves puncturing the skin with very fine needles – either with a dermapen or a dermaroller. These needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.
Regeneration & Collagen production
These micro-injuries activate the skin’s natural healing process: growth factors are released that stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and also the body’s own hyaluronic acid.
The needle depth can vary depending on the device and treatment: in cosmetic needling, they are often relatively superficial, while in medical needling, needles can penetrate several millimeters deep into the skin.
There are also variations like RF microneedling (radio frequency), where heat is additionally conducted through the needles into deeper layers of the skin to further enhance regeneration.

Drug delivery
During or after needling, active ingredients (e.g., hyaluronic serums, vitamins) can be applied, which penetrate deeper into the skin through the microchannels and work more effectively.
Healing and outcome
The skin may be red immediately after treatment. Regeneration takes a few days to weeks, but the long-term effect (e.g., firmer skin, refined complexion) begins as soon as new collagen is formed.
Risks & Side Effects
Risks & Side Effects
